A double ikat patola odhani, it's body rendered with a diamond pattern forming square registers filled with alternating motifs of processional elephants with howdahs (haathi) and tigers (vagh) against a black ground. The odhani is bordered at both ends with simple bands of red, white, yellow and green, and more decorative bands with diamond and conical designs. The use of the term haathi, instead of the more specifically Gujarati kunjar, used in other patterns with elephants, is explained by its appearance only to refer to patterns meant primarily for export.
