    "THE LADY OF THE LAMP" 1954 VERSION... HUGE BULBS TO LIGHT THE WAY AROUND THE COASTS.. The young lady in the picture is not Florence Nightingale - but 19 years old KATHLEEN BROWNE who helps to make the enormous lighthouse bulbs at the lamp-factory in Wembley, Middlesex., where she works..The lamps, which cost over £60, are rated at 10,000 watts and are used in the lighthouses around our coasts.. Its size can be compared with the better known flashlamp bulb seen on top of the lamp and can be described as the largest and smallest. "Torch" lamps in use..
