MAKING CRICKET BATS FOR THE COMING SEASON.
MJH/FM.
Within a stone's (or cricket ball's) throw of Lord's, cricket bats are being made for the forthcoming season at the old-established firm of Messrs. B. Warsop & Sons, Limited, Park Road, London, N.W.1., where cricket bats have been manufactured since 1870. Between 10 and 12 dozen bats per week are now being turned out and bats have been made here for all the well-known
cricketers.
PHOTOGRAPH SHOWS: Mr. J.T. Ambridge, aged 75, from North Kensington, who has worked for Messrs. Warsop since the age of 14 (61 years) is seen turning the handles of the cricket bats in the process of manufacture.
