    DUKE AT ST. DAVID'S DAY PARADE MJH/HA. At the Guards Depot, Caterham, today, H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh presented leeks to the Welsh Guards, in accordance with the traditional St. David's Day custom, and afterwards took the Salute at a march past of the regiment. This is the Duke's first St. David's Day parade since he became Colonel of the Welsh Guards. It is also the 40th anniversary of the Regiment. PHOTOGRAPH SHOWS: R.S.M. D.J. GRIFFITHS of the Welsh Guards putting the Duke of Edinburgh's hat back on, after he had pinned a leek to it, at the St. David's Day parade at Caterham today. FOX PHOTOS MARCH 182. 1955. In the top picture Regimental Sergt. Major D. J. Griffiths gives a little prod here and a nudge there to get the Duke's hat firmly back on his head. R S M Griffiths had just pinned a leek to it.
