H.M. THE QUEEN, riding side-saddle on Winston, and wearing the scarlet tunic and dark blue riding habit as Colonel-in-Chief of the Coldstream Guards - whose Colour was being trooped - was followed by
THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH riding a new mount, called "Alamein" and wearing a bearskin with the uniform of a Colonel of the Welsh Guards, as they left the Palace for the Horse Guards Parade - for today's Trooping the Colour ceremony - which marks the Queen's official birthday. The Duke today celebrates his 33rd. birthday.
