A Pichwai depicting Shri Yamunaji, who is revered as a patron goddess by followers of the Pushti Margi sect. According to the mythology, Yamunaji is the fourth patrani (consort) of Krishna, and daughter of Surya (the sun god). She is depicted dark complexioned as Krishna, wearing a patterned pleated skirt, holding a garland and lotuses in her hands, walking on the river bank. Painted against a plain green background with a yellow border containing finely painted red roses with leaves, this pichwai is now partially backed on cotton fabric.
