After the nuclear accident and explosion, radioactive materials fell across the surrounding areas. The first step in the decontamination processes was to remove the surface layer of radioactively contaminated soil and store it in plastic bags. However, the final destination for many of these bags of contaminated material has yet to be agreed upon.
