A Portrait of Hemendranath Dasgupta

Hemchandra Dasgupta, one of the leading Indian geologists of his time and an inspiring teacher and research guide, was Professor of Geology at Presidency College (now Presidency University) from 1903 to 1932. His devotion to his subject, to which he made notable contributions, was remarkable. The geology department of Presidency College may almost be described as his handwork.
