One of the important tools needed to make terracotta products is the potter's wheel. The wheel is used manually to make the basic and typical shapes such as conical and cylindrical. The wheel is traditionally made of wood, and is 3-4 feet in diameter. It is locally made. The wheel is generally placed outside the house in the coutyard as open space is required to manoeuvre it.
