From Oxford Publishing Company or Railprint Collection. A refreshment trolley at Paddington station, about 1910.
Passengers could buy drinks, cakes, fruit and sandwiches from these trolleys. They were used in large stations so that passengers would not have a long walk if they needed to buy food. Those people wanting a larger meal could go to the station's restaurant.
The photograph was taken on a long exposure, meaning the carriages in the background are blurred as the train pulls away.
