The painting in question and the one depicting God Father traveled as companions, as it can be deduced from the same period frame decorated with imitation marble. The painting in question depicts a saint's head comparable with the one of St. Augustine that is in a plume of the Galbi chapel of the Church of the Ghiara in Reggio Emilia that dates back to 1622. The image also refers to the "Eternal" by Guercino, placed on the ancona of the main altar of the Capuchin church of Parma.
