A Sea Horse

A dried Hippocampus with its small envelope. The specimen is one of several “wonders of nature” that fill the chamber of curiosities in one of the tower rooms at Skokloster. The handwriting and the inventory list suggest that the specimen was included in the collection at the turn of the century 1800.
