The coffee cup and the saucer are made with zigzagging patterns, and the cup has a handle in the shape of a dragon. On the box the words “35th year of Meiji” is written. After the 30s of the Meiji era (1897-1906) western tableware production oriented toward exportation to the west took off at kilns around Japan. Meanwhile, western tableware oriented for domestic use was also produced as the Japanese lifestyle gradually became westernized.
