The design of the Great Cascade, painted by Coplestone Warre Bampfylde 1762, was probably inspired by his visit to William Shenstone’s noted West Midlands estate, the Leasowes, earlier that year. The Great Cascade was restored in early 1996 along with the magnificent Georgian leat that was built to supply it with water.
