During the Japanese colonial era, the Export Cattle Quarantine Service was located in the Uam-dong area of Busan. It was an institution that quarantined cows being exported from the Korean Peninsula to Japan, to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. The buildings at the bottom of this photograph were the barns where the quarantined cows were kept.
