  • Artist info: Like so many other artists Frans Francken the Younger was born into an artistic family. It was probably Frans Francken the Elder who gave him his initial education and his uncle Hieronomous the Elder supplied additional instruction. Together with Jan Brueghel the Elder Fransk Francken the Younger developed a new genre motif that was gallery interiors. At the Art Dealer´s is a typical example of Francken´s 1630´s style when he basically painted in monochrome, subdued colours.
