Left hand side view. Produced by Leyland Australia, a subsidiary of manufacturer British Leyland, the Force 7V Coupe was intended to be a sporting version of the Leyland P76. It was one of the first hatchbacks to be released in Australia. The P76 and Coupe were built to compete with the Australian-built Ford Falcon and Holden Kingswood.
Only ten pre-production Coupes were manufactured before Leyland’s Australian factory closed in late 1974. It marked the last attempt by the British motor industry to design a car for Australia.
