Abbey Theatre at The Rupert Gunness Hall, Dublin.

Following the destructive 1951 fire at the old Abbey Theatre, the company needed a new home. In the weeks immediately after the fire the Abbey played at the new Rupert Guinness Hall courtesy of the Guinness Company. A more permanent solution was necessary and later in 1951 the theatre moved to the Queen's Theatre on Pearse Street, Dublin, pending the rebuilding of the Abbey Theatre.
