Mao Daizhong, born in Laizhou, Shandong Province in March 1955, is currently the dean, professor and Master of Fine Arts College, Shandong Academy of Arts; doctoral tutor of Griffith University, Australia; vice-chairman of Shandong Association of Fine Arts; director of Oil Painting Arts Committee of Shandong Association of Fine Arts; member of China Artists Association; director of China Oil Painting Society; and Director of Fine Arts Education Committee of China Education Association. Mao Daizhong's paintings tend to be abstract. We can see his skill in the expressive power of brush and ink dot lines and rubbing. As a result, the dot lines in his brushwork are interwoven into a musical rhythm. He found nature outward and his affection inward. The mountains and rivers were spiritualized and sentimental.
