Large jars (ollas) were used for hauling and storing water. The entire surface of this large Acoma polychrome storage jar is covered with painted designs characteristic of the overall style of decoration. Many of the designs used on Acoma, Laguna, and Zuni pottery bear a strong resemblance to the fine-line hatching designs found on ancestral pottery from Mesa Verde and Chaco Canyon.
