The Evel Knievel figure or doll recalls the hair-raising feats of the 1970s daredevil and icon. From 1965 to 1980, Evel Knievel made countless motocycle jumps over cars, trucks, buses, and other obstacles; in 1974 he jumped across the Snake River Canyon in Idaho on a motorcycle powered by a rocket engine. The master daredevil was also a master entertainer: for years he advertised his upcoming leap across the Grand Canyon though he never secured permission to do so. His fans settled for his jump across the Snake River. The stuntman earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for having survived the most broken bones--37 of them. The Ideal Toy Company released Evel Knievel doll at the height of Knievel's popularity.
