This game, released for the GameCube in 2001, begins when Luigi wins a mansion from a contest he did not enter. When he and his brother, Mario, decide to meet up at the mansion in order to explore it, Luigi discovers that Mario has disappeared. Luigi must travel through the mysterious mansion in order to save Mario. The game is significant for introducing the Poltergust 3000, along with Professor Elvin Gadd and King Boo. Luigi's Mansion sold over three million copies, making the game a highly successful endeavor.
