A sit-com offered on ABC from 1978 to 1982, "Mork & Mindy" featured an extraterrestial alien played by the comedian Robin Williams. Mork from Ork landed his egg-shaped space capsule near Boulder, Colorado, and was befriended by Mindy who allowed him to live in her attic. Episodes of the series mostly involved Mork trying to understand American culture and human behavior. The show featured the manic Williams's gift for improvisational comedy.
