Action Path #7

“Action Path #7” is the seventh work of the same-titled series consisting of fifty-three sculptures created by Franz Erhard Walther between 1996 and 2003. The participants can enact the performative sculpture by following the artist’s instructions within a certain range of movement. As is the case with all other Walther’s objects based on action, the work can be displayed either in a closed (storage situation) or open manner (action situation). While the sculpture takes up an areaof one square metre in storage, it can reach a length of up to eleven metres in an action situation.
