Patrone started studying architecture at Uruguay’s National University in 1971 but by 1978 she moved to painting under the tutelage of Pepe Montes. She also studied printmaking and spent time in New York as a Fulbright scholar in 1988. Upon her return to Uruguay, she helped establish the Buenaventura Studio with Carlos Musso and Carlos Seveso. Thereafter, she represented Uruguay in several shows around the world and in in the 1990’s began collaborating in theater with stage, costume and mural design. Since 2003 she has been living in France.
