Active Object

Willys de Castro was a member of the Neoconcrete group. His active works are pieces that present painting on a three-dimensional base, which is a geometric form. The issues of figure and ground, and presence and absence are investigated in depth in these works, considered non-objects in the theoretical texts on Neoconcretism.
