In the 1950s both Simon and Schuster and the Golden Press, publisher of Little Golden Books, produced a series of children's activity books centered on stickers. The books carried a theme and pages of entertaining or educational text, with pictures to color. Each page had a place to stick one of the gummed, perforated stickers included with the books. Golden collaborated with Disney on several different books, based on popular films, series, and documentaries. This example, not associated with Disney, is concerned with the life of frontiersman Daniel Boone.
