The present plaquette is the only signed and dated work in bronze by Ludwig Krug. The plaquette exists in two examples, the earlier of which was cast only with the date "1515" (the date of the model) on the obverse side. This slightly later plaquette bears the date "1515" on the front side, but also bears the actual casting date of "1518" on the reverse.
