ADE Zen Space

Health, both physical and mental, has been at the forefront of discussions in the music industry as well as most industries. As artists, audiences and the supporting industry struggle with an enormous amount of impulses, opportunities and impressions, the urge to unwind and reflect increases. In order to facilitate a balanced experience, ADE has brought together artists, designers and performers alike in the Waalse Kerk church to ease the mind. The ADE Zen Space (2019) featured a central light- and sound installation by Studio Koen Steger, which invites visitors to lie down, unwind and wander off. The work translates the experience of serenity in natural environments to the center of Amsterdam. Visitors could also join yoga, talks, crystal bowl meditation and a one of a kind sleeping concert, presented by Circle of Live and Breakfast Club. During this all-night ambient improvisation, Johanna Knutsson and Sebastian Mullaert guided the audience through their dreams for 8 hours.
