Admiral Byrd Flag and Letter

Small American flag with a letter to Franklin D. Roosevelt from Admiral E. Byrd. The note states that the flag was carried by Admiral Byrd over the North Pole in 1926, over the Atlantic Ocean in 1927, over the South Pole in 1929, and over Roosevelt Island and other territories in 1929 and 1934. Glazed, matted, and frame in a black painted 1/2" wood frame. Presented to FDR by Admiral Byrd. FDR Library Museum Collection, MO 1973.15.
