Sixteenth century religious painting, the oldest item in the Museum's musical iconography collection. It presents the theme of the "Mystical Lamb" or "Adoration of the Lamb". This animal appears in the center of the composition, lying on a bible, symbolizing the sacrifice of Christ. Among the musical elements of the painting, it stands out, on the lower plane, King David playing an harp, together with musician angels who sing and play their instruments, praising Christ. Besides the harp, other instruments are identified: bugles, chalumeau, sackbut and a viola da gamba.
