Paco de Lucía was one of the most influential and renowned flamenco guitarists in the world. Born in Algeciras (Cádiz) in 1947, he revolutionised flamenco with his virtuosity and ability to fuse the genre with other musical styles such as jazz.

"Japan is a country I have been going to since I was 16, 17 years old, with full theatres and very high quality theatres. In this country, flamenco has been considered a music of universal interest for many years." (Paco de Lucía)
