Advertising Fan for the Berkeley Hotel

‘Fontange’ or balloon shaped fan with stained wooden sticks.

The double paper leaf is printed on the recto with a couple in eighteenth century style costume conversing while Cupid draws aim. A prominent frieze of stylised roses completes the illustration.
The verso is printed in monochrome pink with stylised flowers and leaves, inscribed ‘The Berkeley’.
