Collection of Barbanera Almanacs.

The Collection of Barbanera (lunar) Almanacs consist of 356 original exemplars, dating from 1762-1962, making it the most complete collection in the world. It’s the most outstanding proof of almanac literature in the forecasting category. It helped to create the mass culture and identity-making heritage of entire nations, up until the advent of more modern forms of mass communication. This type of literature came into being in Italy in the Middle Ages, in the universities, became extremely popular in the second half of the 15th century, and reached its height in the 18th century, the so-called “century of almanacs.”
