Aedicula with the Assumption of the Virgin

This precious artifact bears witness to the preferences of XVII century roman aristocracy in the field of private devotion. The structure of the aedicula is in ebony with silver ornaments and several semiprecious stones that frame a picture of the Assumption of the Virgin. The image is painted in oil on lapis lazuli by the French artist Jacques Stella, who has been a relevant figure of baroque classicism.
