Aerial View of Whyalla

This photograph shows the Memorial Oval in Whyalla, and South Australian Housing Trust homes. Between 1940 and 1944 the SAHT built 405 homes in Whyalla. They were all constructed in the semi-detached, double-unit style. An oval can be seen in the centre of the photograph, it has been identified as Memorial Oval. A game of Australian Rules Football is being played. Exact date of image is unknown, circa 1950s possibly.
