NEW FOUND HOPE
Through Carakana, the beneficiaries have found hope and their dignity has been restored through the work of their hands. "My name is Alice, I am a deaf woman living in Dandora and I worked on this pattern with African stick women image on it. Being in this project gives me hope to continue being industrious with the capability of earning to support my family. I hope my experience and story can motivate others living with any kind of disability that it is possible to do something to advance yourself be it in terms of skills or financially. I have one child in Standard One and I used some of the money I was paid for this piece to pay school fees and some of it to begin a second-hand clothes selling business. I’m very happy to see deaf people being considered for this project so may God continue blessing Carakana."
