Description: A close reference to Honoré Daumier’s Rue Transnonain from 1834, After the Ball, the Reveler is Jean-Louis Forain’s contemporary image of debauchery. After a night of drunken revelry, a dandy lies collapsed in drunken sleep. Forain, ever the naturalistic artist, spares no detail in his expression of moral decay.
