This landscape-oriented photograph shows a portrait of people carrying the heavy burden of a jute or cloth gunny bags tied together with thick rope on their head. The protagonists are three men prominently and a crowd of people and temporary structures in the background. All of their expressions seem like they are unimpressed by someone photographing them. This moment of documentation is insignificant to them, it will not impact their lives in any way. The composition of the photograph is such that it creates a mise-en-abyme – an image within an image.
