A generative-AI-based digital avatar answered visitors’ questions about the history and traditions of confraternities, the meaning and description of ritual clothing, and the cultural and religious context of the exhibition objects in English, Italian, German, French, and Spanish. This so-called AI Brother was developed by QBT Sagl in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair at USI, Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano. It was trained on historical, cultural, artistic, religious, and academic sources to provide informative and educational dialogue.
