The collection of UK AIDS Quilts were made between 1989 and 1996 to commemorate friends, lovers and family members who passed away from an AIDS related illness during this time. You can zoom in to some of the specific details listed below.

The top left panel in blue is for Simon Anderson adorned with white and red roses, with the words "Love knows not it's own depth, till the hour of separation."

The top middle panel is anonymous. It was created from six shirts and two trousers from this man's donated clothes, from his sister so that symbolically, a little bit of him will now be kept alive in rememberence as "anonymous".

The top right panel remembers several people: Richard, Nick, Michael, Ross, Bob, Ralf Geoff with various objects for each person. They are friends and colleagues of Audrey Rymill who made this quilt in 1992.

The middle center panel remembers Norman.

The middle center panel below remembers John Davies, there is also a red dragon breathing fire on it. John had a sense of humor, a broad smile and sweet nature.

The bottom center panel below is dedicated to Michael Jeffrey with a flower patterned waist-coat. He was the "dressmaker to the stars" who always made an entrance.

The bottom left panel is for Fergus Maclean. There are many letters on the panel from his loved ones as well as a doll.

On the bottom right panel, is one dedicated to Richard Carson featuring a group of bears having a picnic. The panels above and below are both anonymous. One features a denim jacket with a bear while the bottom one has musical notes and records on it.
