The top left panel remembers German Madroñero (1961-1994), submitted by Enrique Alvarez. German was born and lived his life in Oviedo, Spain. A painter with strong drawing skills from early in his youth, his work "ranged from renaissance-like murals to outdoor installations" and "his portaits, mainly of friends and people he loved, are very powerful and architectural elements of Oviedo".
The upper middle left panel commemorates Joseph A. Nicastro, born Nov 1964, died July 1993. The panel was presented for Joseph by Gabriel P Duffy: "Joseph was a charismatic, cheerful, happy and fun loving guy, occasionally participating.'
The upper left corner reads:
"If you have a friend worth loving, love him
Yes, and let him know that you love him
Ere' life's evening tinge his brow with sunset glow,
Why should good words ne'r be said of a friend
'til he is dead?
The panel is signed "Love Gabriel xxx".
