Some of the earliest electric toy airplanes were produced by the A. E. Rittenhouse Co. of Honeoye Falls, NY. The firm produced planes such as this one from 1913 into the 1930. The tail of the plane is bent to an angle so that it would fly in a circular pattern with power from the wire that tethered it to a source of electricity--in this case a Lionel transformer.
