Akbar Captures a Cheetah

Because of their speed, cheetahs were used for hunting. The early Mughal practice of capturing the animals in deep pits covered with grass often caused injury, rendering them useless for hunting. Akbar, therefore, devised a method of capture using a shallow pit and a type of trapdoor.
