Akino Maki-e Stationery Box

This box is for papers and stationery. The box has drawers inside and a silver moon on top. The entire box has pictures of autumn foliage such as Japanese clover and Japanese pampas grass in maki-e (gold and silver lacquer). The metal fittings are elaborate as well. This piece of fine art was created in the 19th century.
