Al Araba Al Madfuna

Wael Shawky presents his video installation ‘Al Araba Al Madfuna’ which depicts a group of boys dressed up like grown-up men, complete with fake moustaches. With adult voices the children tell a story written by Mohamed Mustagab, while one of them is digging a hole in the room. Mohamed Mustagab’s story is an interesting parable about a credulous society who permits itself to be manipulated by its spiritual leaders.
