Albano de Mello Ribeiro Pinto was born in Agueda on March 19, 1844 and died in the same city on March 27, 1931. Bachelor degree in Law, Faculty of Law, University of Coimbra, was Director General of the Ministry of Justice, Civil Governor of the District of Aveiro, Castelo Branco, deputy, Attorney and Counselor of His Most Faithful Majesty. He was founder in 1879, in Agueda, and director until his death Soberania do Povo newspaper. He married Maria Augusta Homem de Macedo da Câmara with whom he had two children, Manuel Homem de Mello da Câmara (1866 - 1953), 1st Count of Agueda, and Antonio Homem de Melo de Macedo (1868-1947).
