Gyeomjae Jeong Seon (1676-1759) is known as a founder of the real-view (Jingyeong) landscape painting style depicting Korea’s actual landscape scenes. This album is an important work of Jeong Seon because they were painted during his learning of the Southern School painting style- it demonstrates apparent changes in Jeong Seon’s landscape style. The album consists of seven paintings that were completed on the night of October 8th, 1719. The introduction and the postscript in the front and back of the album are written by Lee Ha-gon(1677-1724), who was a close friend of Jeong Seon. In an order of right to left, the seven paintings include: a landscape of Fall - a scenery of Summer- a scenery of Winter- another scenery of Fall- a flower-insect painting with cockscombs, a bee and a frog - a flower painting with chrysanthemums and an oddly-shaped rock- and lastly, a landscape view of Summer. At the end of the introduction, it is written that the album was made in 1719 when Jeong Seon has turned 44.
