Inscriptions: Artist's inscription, signature, and 8 seals: Leaf H. When the winter sun warms up the door, the day begins;/ I clean up my black leather shoes to break off from the dusty world./ Prunus blossoms again bloom on the tree in front of the pavilion;/ Their fragrance penetrates the eaves and satisfies my innermost self. In the wushen year [1668], tenth month, the old man of seventy-three, Yuncong. [seal] Xiao Yuncong., 9 additional seals: 2 of Chen Yixi 陳奕禧 (1646-1709); 4 of Li Yufen 李玉棻 [Li Yunhu 李韵湖] (active mid-1800s); 3 unidentified.
Fun Fact: The hardy white prunus blossoms in the poetic inscription and the painting itself identify this as a late winter scene.
