Alexander Beyer

Awarded the 6th prize in 2015, Alex Beyer has degrees in both music from the New England Conservatory and mathematics from Harvard. Interestingly Alex went on to win 3rd prize at the 2016 Queen Elisabeth Competition and then pivoted away from music to pursue a career as a Naval Aviator in the United States Navy. Alex is pictured here with Maestro Grzegorz Nowak, the acclaimed conductor who led the FIU Symphony orchestra during the finals
